Counseling

Michelle Murray

Counselor

Welcome! I am excited about being your school counselor at Russellville Middle School! Prior to becoming the school counselor at RMS in January 2021, I was a counselor at RHS for 2.5 years.  Before that, I served as school counselor at Russellville Elementary School for 3 years and also taught 5th grade at RES for 11 years.  I have 3 adult children.  As a professional school counselor, I advocate for students' success using a solution-focused approach by collaborating with administrators, teachers, staff, parents/guardians and the community.  Our school counseling program at RMS is designed to educate the whole child and is developmental, preventive, and proactive in nature.  Lessons and topics are designed to support the social-emotional, academic, and career development of all students and are created using the Alabama Comprehensive Counseling State Model and the American School Counseling Association Standards.
